Snap Launches Ad Network

Snap.com will launch it’s very own Ad Network. We knew it was just a matter of time before they figured out how to make money with their excellent technology.

Snap.com started as a simple provider of neat looking, Ajax-inspired, popup thumbnails of websites. These thumbnails were triggered by a link. The company claims that over 2 million website owners use their technology. For a long time, people wondered how they were going to make money to keep this service up. They have now answered that question by coming out with an Ad network.

The ads appear below the thumbnail. Some website operators may bulk at the clutter this produces, but they have actually done a good job of keeping it clean and toned down. What’s nice about the service is that they are offering website operators a chance to share on the revenue by allowing users of the service to place their own AdSense publishers’ ID on their account. This will enable the Snap Ad Network to display a percentage of their ad impressions with their own Google Ads, allowing them to share on the revenue.

Google Adsense is the only contextual advertising company to be included in the revenue sharing scheme so far. Affiliate links are also allowed.
